Why Steamboat Lake Is One of My Favorite Proposal Locations

When people say they want a proposal in the mountains, I love taking them to Steamboat Lake.

Because when you say “mountains,” these are the mountains I picture.

Not just the ski mountain in Steamboat.

Real mountains.

You get those big, expansive Colorado peaks, the lake, tall evergreen trees, open spaces, and beautiful views all in one location.

And one of my favorite things about it is that we can get so much variety without spending your whole day driving around.

We can start with the mountains and water, move into the trees, find a quiet little spot for some more intimate photos, and finish somewhere completely different as the light changes.

It feels like multiple locations without the hassle of multiple locations.

And honestly, that's what I want for your proposal photos.

I want the landscape to feel like Colorado, but I also want the photographs to feel like you.
